Mario Balotelli could realistically walk away from the apparent mess at AC Milan.
AC Milan and Italian legend Paolo Maldini is not a happy man.
The former central defender has slammed Milan, suggesting the club he enjoyed such a successful career it has been completely ‘destroyed’ by the powers that be.
Milan are in a state, possibly an even worse state than Manchester United as they sit 11th in Serie A with no hope of Champions League football next season.
“For me this is very bad. Milan have had the good fortune of having many winning cycles with similar synergies of men, I know how much work there was behind so many triumphs, what it took to build such a beautiful story. To see it all destroyed drives me crazy,” Maldini told Gazzetta dello Sport.
Needless to say that should Milan only finish in mid-table there are going to be financial knock on effects and that sort of cash for the controversial Italian striker could become very welcome although it wouldn’t be a popular decision.
Throughout Balotelli’s career he has showcased a tendency for the flamboyant. He’s a high profile player with an ego and he loves it.
The chance to jump ship and move to live in a city like London is seemingly a perfect situation for Balotelli.
Needless to say Arsenal and Chelsea will both have Champions League football next season unless a remarkable set of results plagues the club over the rest of the campaign.
Arsenal have the cash to pay a fee, put him on a decent wage deal and they need attacking firepower up front.
Chelsea also have the cash for a fee and personal terms and they have been linked with strikers throughout the season which hints Jose Mourinho has one eye on a forward in some capacity.
The chance to live, splash the cash and play top level football in London over a more matured and responsible fight in Milan next season. Two questions come to mind; which situation do you think Balotelli wants to be in and what on earth are the London clubs waiting for?
