Chelsea morning news: £50m striker blow, Mourinho planning controversial sale this summer?

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho has revealed he expects Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba to one day return to Chelsea.

Drogba returns to Stamford Bridge for a competitive game for the first time this evening with the Champions League tie finely balanced at 1-1.

“His return has to happen one day, when I don’t know. As a player, as a coach, as an ambassador, next year, in four or five years, 10 years, I don’t know,” said Mourinho.

In transfer news, Chelsea’s chances of signing Radamel Falcao have just decreased substantially.

The Colombian forward has been tipped for a high profile move to West London but has revealed he wants to stay at Monaco.

“I want to play for Monaco in the next years. My injury? It’s going well, the dream to play the World Cup is giving me strength,” he’s quoted by TalkSport.

A player who looks like he will leave in the summer is on loan forward Romelu Lukaku.

Het Laatste Nieuws has suggested that the Belgian won’t be offered the chance to stay in English football, at least not with the Blues.

A fee of €20 million has been suggested in the latest reports, with plenty of clubs likely to be interested in the forward.
