The 28-year-old French international defender helped the Gunners to a vitally important 1-0 victory at White Hart Lane in front of a ferocious crowd – forging a solid partnership with German defender Per Mertesacker.
Koscielny was instrumental throughout, making three tackles, 15 effective clearances – including one off the line – and was alert to Emmanuel Adebayor’s impressive off-the-ball movement. It was a man of the match award winning performance – and one which hasn’t gone unnoticed in the footballing world.
Manchester City defender Micah Richards was tuned in to the game, and used Twitter to let his feelings be known on the proceedings.
The England international was so impressed with Arsenal centre-back Koscielny, that he tweeted his belief that the Frenchman has been the best centre-back in the Premier League this season – better than teammate Vincent Kompany.

It’s a bold statement from the 25-year-old Manchester City product, but one which has a fair amount of substance to it.
Over time, Koscielny has gradually become the Gunners’ most reliable centre-back, and was voted Arsenal’s second best player of the season last year.
This year, he has enjoyed his best spell of his career. Alongside Per Mertesacker, the duo have helped transform the Emirates into a fortress – conceding just seven goals all season which is a Premier League best.
