The London Evening Standard has published its Team of the Week for sides in the capital, and Arsenal have seven included while Tottenham Hotspur have none.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood may have believed the better team lost on Sunday, but it is Arsenal who find themselves with seven players in the Evening Standard’s London Team of the Week.

Speaking after Spurs 1-0 defeat, Sherwood said, “We were better than them. I thought we played well, we created chances, played on the front foot, defended together.”

But despite those words, not a single Spurs player made it into the team that is formulated in association with Whoscored.com.

Of the Gunners’ back-line, only Per Mertesacker was not selected – his place going to Fulham’s Fernando Amorebieta.

Ahead of them, four more Arsenal players made the team in the form of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta and the match-winner Tomas Rosicky.

The remaining three spaces were taken up by goalkeeper David Stockdale, Chelsea man Eden Hazard and West Ham striker Andy Carroll.

So while Sherwood may have thought his men played better than their fierce rivals, they lost 7-0 in this particular competition, with four players from other London sides getting in ahead of any Tottenham players.
