There was good news for Chelsea earlier on as Brazilian central defender David Luiz trained ahead of the Champions League match against Galatasaray.
Luiz has been carrying a knock ever since the recent international break, which has forced Jose Mourinho to rely on the centre back pairing of Gary Cahill and John Terry to form the heart of his defence.
Whether Luiz will start tomorrow night is unclear but it’s doubtful considering he’s not had a lot of recent football and considering the stakes of this game, he may only feature from the subs bench.
Mourinho could risk Luiz with a great deal of strain being placed on John Terry at the moment to feature in another game so close to his last 90 minutes against Aston Villa over the weekend.
Either way, it’s encouraging to see the Brazilian so close to a competitive return and if Chelsea start well tomorrow, he could be thrown on for a decent chunk of the match if does only make the subs bench.
