Great game, great atmosphere!! Hardcore keeper.. With friends like that, who needs enemies? :) pic.twitter.com/B5g8AaKFPV— Daniel Agger (@DanielAgger) March 16, 2014
Agger fell victim to a Mignolet punch as the Reds' shot stopper tried to clear a corner during Liverpool's trip to Manchester United on Sunday.
The 29-year-old's eye flared up very quickly and Agger was left with a huge blue bruise on his face. He later took to Twitter to show the world exactly what he'd been through, crediting the damage to Liverpool's "hardcore keeper."
But Mignolet soon hit back, tweeting: "My sincere apologies also to the wife!"
The incident didn't stop Liverpool from recording a famous 3-0 win at Old Trafford, however, with Mignolet and Agger both largely untroubled at the back.
Man United only registered one shot on target during the encounter and the Reds will now look ahead to a trip to Cardiff City next weekend.
It's all to play for in the Premier League title race, with Liverpool only four points behind league-leaders Chelsea.
But hopefully Agger won't be taking any more punches from his goalkeeper!
What did you make of Agger's performance against United on Sunday?
