Manchester City latest: Blues favourites for the title and computer proves that’s right

Manchester City Etihad 2

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

It is a relatively quiet day in terms of Manchester City news, but their fans may be pleased to know that the Blues are once again favourites for the Premier League title following Chelsea’s defeat on Saturday.

Goal reports that bet365 have made Manuel Pellegrini’s side 13/10 favourites to reclaim the title in May. And it is no surprise after the Blues overcame the early blow of Vincent Kompany’s red card to win 2-0 away to Hull City while Chelsea stumbled away to Aston Villa later in the day.

With games in hand, and with no other cup distractions, Pellegrini’s men will surely be fully focused on getting their hands on the trophy once more.

And that is something that will happen according to Talk Sport, who have published a mock-table that has been generated by Bloomberg to show what the table could look like at the end of the campaign based on an algorithms that predicts sport scores.

I told you it was a slow news day!

And finally, Talk Sport reports that Fulham striker Darren Bent will be back in contention for the match against City next weekend.

Fukham boss Felix Magath said, “Darren was not here for private reasons but he will be back next week.”

Could he yet put a dent in City’s title push?
