Liverpool's performance against Manchester United on Sunday was impressive in the extreme, as they carried out - to a man - the game-plan Brendan Rodgers deserves considerable praise for.
The Reds did not give Adnan Januzaj or Juan Mata a moment on the ball, constantly closing them down and pushing them back into areas of the pitch where they could do little damage. And one man integral to that was Jon Flanagan, who has impressed all season but appeared to step up a gear at Old Trafford.
The 21-year-old has already been tipped to make England's World Cup squad by his club manager, and given his performance on Sunday, few would bet against it.
Flanagan was immense, winning seven tackles, making eight effective clearances and five effective headed clearances. He also won 12 duels, one aerial duel and three interceptions. He may be young, but there is an old head on those inexperienced shoulders.

Liverpool have a lot of impressive young players coming through their ranks, but Flanagan is one of the very best, and it is hard to see him not being a regular fixture in the starting line-up for the next decade.
After the match, we took to Twitter to see what the Reds' fans thought of the young full-back's performance, and it was no surprise what we found.
