The 21-year-old Spain U21 fullback has been linked with interest from Premier League giants Liverpool as well as Serie A side Napoli managed by former Reds boss Rafael Benitez.
The youngster has also been monitored by Real Madrid according to reports this term but, according to his agent, Liverpool and their competitors may not even have to trigger the defender’s £25 million release clause this summer.
"Yes, Napoli presented an offer in January, but it was not seen as big enough. The interest of Real Madrid? Nothing has been done and my client is concentrating on Sevilla,” explained Moreno’s agent Javier Montoya.
"Sevilla are willing to negotiate, but on their conditions. I’m not saying he can only leave there for his £25m release clause fee."
Moreno has four years left on his current contract with Sevilla but, as his agent suggests, could leave the club if his £25 million release clause is triggered – what will likely come as music to the ears of his admirers at home and abroad is the admission that he could be available for less than that figure.
The Spaniard and local boy from Seville has impressed across his 22 appearances in La Liga this term – the left-back has even managed to score three goals in the Spanish top tier and has featured on 8 occasions in the Europa League.
According to reports this week, Liverpool are ‘preparing’ a £15 million offer to tempt Sevilla but the same source claims a ‘bidding war’ could ensue if Real Madrid enter the chase for the La Liga starlet as has been strongly rumoured.
However, reports earlier this month claimed the players’ agent doubts that his client will move to the Bernabeu, opening the door for Premier League suitors Liverpool and Manchester United.
