Sunday rumour mill: City eye up Spanish-based Joe Hart replacement

The Daily Mail believe that Manuel Pellegrini’s men are set to make a move for Victor Valdes.

It has taken time for Manuel Pellegrini to fully trust Joe Hart, with the England number one dropped for a period of time earlier this season by the Manchester City boss.

However, Hart has won his place back in the City team of late and looks to be back to somewhere near his best.

Despite this, The Daily Mail has today suggested that the Etihad Stadium side want to sign Victor Valdes from Barcelona this summer.

The Spain international stopper will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season after admitting his willingness to find a new challenge in his career.

Despite the likes of Monaco being linked with a move for Valdes, City have emerged as a potential suitor also.

It remains to be seen just how much confidence Pellegrini has in Hart, which will play a considerable role in whether City move for a new goalkeeper at the end of the season.
