The San Paolo club’s director Riccardo Bigon has confessed that Rafa Benitez’s men are keeping tabs on Porto duo Jackson Martinez and Juan Iturbe.
Colombian Martinez has been linked with both Chelsea and Arsenal, with the South American boasting an enviable scoring record in Portugal.
Meanwhile Iturbe has been starring while on loan at Hellas Verona this season, with Liverpool consistently accredited with an interest in a man once labeled as ‘the next Messi.’
However, Napoli are also set to be in the mix for the pair’s signature this summer by the looks of things.
"A lot was said about Jackson Martinez during the summer but with the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain, things went very well for us,” Sky Sports quote Bigon as saying.
"However, I don't hide that we are interested in him as well as other FC Porto players.
"When it comes to Iturbe we just need to talk with Verona, as they have the option to buy them, we don't need to talk with FC Porto, but it's always a pleasure to talk with them, as they know how to run football at a very high level."
With the Gunners and Jose Mourinho’s men both in the market for a striker this summer, Martinez could well be in their sights once more.
Iturbe has been a revelation this season after struggling to adapt to life at Porto, with plenty of suitors hoping to tempt him at the end of the season.
