Seven-year Arsenal star: Give Ozil time

Liam Brady has pleaded with the Emirates Stadium fans to be patient with their record signing amid a dip in form recently.

Arsenal’s decision to bring Mesut Ozil to North London from Real Madrid was lauded as a masterstroke in the wake of a club record transfer during the summer.

However, with the Germany international suffering a dip in form and starting to feel the pace of the game in England, the football community and fans are starting to turn on the playmaker.

Ozil will be on the sidelines for the foreseeable future after picking up a hamstring injury against Bayern Munich, with Liam Brady pleading for patience.

“He’s not deserved the criticism in his first Premier League season,” the seven-year Gunner told talkSPORT.

“Everybody needs time. He started off really, really well.”

Brady also stated that question marks over Arsenal’s chances of silverware are unfair given the side’s back luck with injuries recently.

“People forget Arsenal lost Ramsey and Walcott at a crucial time. Those players were very good for Ozil. Think of how many goals he set up for both of them.

“With those two players missing it’s made a hell of a difference to his game.

“Arsenal have had a lot of bad luck with injuries in the last few weeks.”

Arsenal take on Tottenham in the North London derby this weekend with three much-needed points on the line.

The Gunners will be without Ozil, while Aaron Ramsey is also not ready to make a return.
