Vincent Kompany saw red today, in more than one way, but was happy with his team-mates performance.
But today was certainly no walk in the park at the KC Stadium.
Hull City were always going to be a difficult side to take to task - but having your star defender and captain sent off after just ten minutes was certainly never going to help.
Vincent Kompany was shown his marching orders after a tangle with Nikica Jelavic as the last man - and referee Lee Mason was swift in his decision.
Kompany then decided to put a massive boot-hole in the wall at the KC - we are sure he can expect a bill through the mail in the coming days.
But City, led by an inspired performance by midfielder David Silva, won the game 2-0 - Silva scoring one and assisting the other for Edin Dzeko.
And Kompany has now been on the Tweet after the game.
He praised his team for their performance in the face of adversity - and then decided to ask his followers to give their interpretation of the challenge.
Proud of the guys! Phenomenal shift they have put in again! Hull 0 - 2 City #MCFC— Vincent Kompany (@VincentKompany) March 15, 2014
