Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping he now has the tools for the job in the North London derby.
Of course it is a massive game - but after recent blips in Europe this means more to the players than it usually does, as both smell blood.
For Arsenal their main headache is their growing injury list. Aaron Ramsey is not back, Jack Wilshere and Mesut Ozil were both recently ruled out for around six weeks while the likes of Nacho Monreal, Kieran Gibbs, Yaya Sanogo and Kim Kallstrom have also been out.
But one player who has stepped up to the plate since returning from injury is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
He injured his knee ligaments on the opening day of the season but returned at the start of 2014 and has been in great form since.
He was the standout performer from Arsenal’s recent game against Bayern Munich - and the hope will be he can continue such form against Tim Sherwood’s crisis team.
And at least he will have the right tools for the job.
Like an excited 14-year-old before the start of the season he has posted a picture on his Twitter account of his brand new boots for the game courtesy of Nike.
Arsenal fans will hope they fire him, and Arsenal, to glory against their North London rivals.
