Manchester City got back to winning ways with a hard fought 2-0 win over Hull City at the KC Stadium today.
Manuel Pellegrini's side put consecutive defeats to Wigan Athletic and Barcelona behind them to record a gutsy victory over Steve Bruce's men, as an early red card for Vincent Kompany threw their chances of three points into doubt.
But their 10 men fought superbly and a superb goal from David Silva and a late Edin Dzeko striker gave City the win, which puts City back up into second place, piling the pressure back on Chelsea at the top of the table.
With a man down, City had to rely on solid defending to keep Hull at bay but also a creative spark when they got forward, and Silva provided that in spades today - even aside from his wonderful left footed strike to give City the lead in the first half.
The Spaniard was influential throughout, and City fans on Twitter were evidently delighted with the display from the former Valencia man, with some even comparing him to Lionel Messi.
