Everton will look to bounce back from their FA Cup exit last weekend with a win against struggling Cardiff City at Goodison Park today.
The 4-1 defeat to Arsenal a week ago was a big blow to Toffees fans who will now go through yet another season without a trophy, but manager Roberto Martinez is still hopeful of breaking into the top four, even if it looks unlikely, with Everton sitting nine points behind fourth placed Manchester City.
But with Manchester United and Liverpool playing each other, as well as Tottenham and Arsenal this weekend, there couldn't be a better time for Everton to pick up points, and the visit of Cardiff could be just what they need.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side bagged a vital 3-1 win over Fulham last weekend to bring them level on points with West Brom, and will be looking to build on that win and move out of the relegation zone today.
But the last time Cardiff won back-to-back games in the top flight of English football was in 1962, and the Bluebirds face a tough challenge on Merseyside today, where any points would be greatly welcomed in their bid to survive in the Premier League.
