Andy Carroll has posted an excited picture of meeting Sir Geoff Hurst on his Twitter account.
West Ham United face off against Stoke City this weekend - so it is certainly a game for those ready to mix it up.
One such player is certainly Andy Carroll - who is now back in action after his recent suspension and nightmare season with injury.
Carroll is now vital for the end of West Ham’s season - although it does seem that Sam Allardyce has moved his side clear of the relegation battle with his recent Manager of the Month form.
But for Carroll, there is of course a more individual goal at the end of this season that he has in mind.
The likes of James Collins and his manager have stated their belief that he should be on the plane to Brazil - and of course West Ham strikers have certainly done England good at World Cup’s in the past.
And Carroll got to meet him today - posting an excited picture up on Twitter.
Great to meet such a legend Sir Geoff Hurst!! pic.twitter.com/UpUQqZKw9k— Andy Carroll (@AndyTCarroll) March 14, 2014
The player of course is Sir Geoff Hurst - who scored a hat-trick in England’s 1966 World Cup final win against West Germany at Wembley:
Carroll has met the legend - and now he will be hoping to get a chance at becoming one this summer.
