News of Liverpool's interest in Argentine sensation Juan Iturbe has reached the player himself, and he is not ruling anything out.
Liverpool are also touted as frontrunners for his signature, the Metro claiming this week they had opened talks with the players agent.
Iturbe has subsequently been quizzed on his future, with Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting his comments.
Iturbe to Sky Italy: "Liverpool and italian clubs on me? I would like to stay in Italy for all my life. But let's see what will happen" #LFC— Fabrizio Romano (@FabRomano21) March 13, 2014
The impressive and versatile attacker is wise not to rule anything out, although it appears at this stage a switch to Anfield is his second choice.
There are clear reasons for that and why it makes sense.
Iturbe is just 20-years-old, but is already playing football in the fourth different country of his professional career to date.
After beginning in Paraguay, he was signed by Porto, who then loaned him after a handful of games to Argentine side River Plate.
Now he finds himself in Italy and it appears he is finally comfortable and expressing the talent which once saw him compared to Lionel Messi. Why leave to switch to another foreign league so soon?
With his whole career ahead of him, if a move to the Premier League is destined to happen, there's plenty of time for that.
