Manchester United snapped up Nick Powell in 2012 for a reported fee of £6 million from Crewe Alexandra.
He was the latest hot prospect to come off the production line for The Railwaymen - following in the footsteps of great talents such as Danny Murphy, Dean Ashton and David Platt of coming through the ranks at Crewe.
But of course United was always going to be a more difficult task for the young player - and despite impressing in his cameo appearances, is still a player more for the future.
With that in mind United sought to give him some first-team action this term by sending him out on loan to Wigan Athletic - and he has thrived in the Championship side, scoring 10 goals in 30 appearances for the club.
However his progress was cut short in January - after he picked up a hamstring injury against Middlesbrough.
In that time, well he has missed a lot.
Wigan are now into the FA Cup semi-final, soaring toward a potential play-off spot and playing some delightful football under Uwe Rosler.
But Powell, unlike many of his Manchester United team-mates will be back for the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal - after he made a second half cameo appearance against Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship last night.
He was obviously happy with the comeback - stating on his official Twitter account…
Good to be on the pitch again— Nick Powell (@NPowell25) March 12, 2014
Now he will have designs on Wembley in April - something the boys back at Carrington could only wish for.
