The Gunners’ record signing has stated that he picked up a hamstring injury in the second minute against Bayern but has vowed to come back stronger.
The former Real Madrid man was replaced at half-time in the Gunners’ 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek, with Arsene Wenger later revealing that the star had picked up an injury.
With Ozil set to miss this weekend’s North London derby against rivals Tottenham and be out of action for at least a couple of weeks, the schemer has sent a message to Arsenal fans on Facebook.
He has pledged to come back stronger, while also revealing that he battled through the entire first-half of the game at the Allianz Arena with an injury.
With the likes of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey on the treatment table at the moment, Ozil’s absence will be a blow in Arsenal’s title run-in.
Given that he picked up his injury in the opening minutes of the game against Bayern, he may well have made the ailment much worse through trying to play on.
