The latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.
Mikel Arteta says his Arsenal side will enjoy being the favourites for the FA Cup. Arsenal have their best chance in nine years of finally winning silverware - as they are in the final four along with Hull City, Sheffield United and their semi-final opponents Wigan Athletic.
The Gunners are therefore expected to win the trophy - but while that could be a pressure point for some - Arteta does not agree.
“I think it would be a turning point for the club. Because for such a long time, we don't win anything. It gives you a lift, the belief that you can start to go in the right direction and hopefully we can do it. We know we are favourites and we know that puts more pressure on us but we are happy with the situation in the Cup … We need to enjoy the moment and make the most of it because I think we can do something good."
Arsenal face Tottenham Hotspur in the league on Sunday - and it is reported this morning that Aaron Ramsey will NOT be fit for the North London derby.
Reports last week suggested that the Welshman could be back in action for the derby game - however that now no longer appears to be the case.
Meanwhile Kieran Gibbs is a major doubt although Nacho Monreal is expected to return - as is Kim Kallstrom for a debut.
Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere face an anxious spell on the sidelines.
Meanwhile Tottenham have been given a timely boost - after Tim Sherwood confirmed that Christian Eriksen was returning from his respective injury ahead of the derby game.
It comes after Younes Kaboul was also confirmed available - after his red card against Chelsea was rescinded.
Finally and Italian star Claudio Marchisio has revealed the list of teams ringing his agent to ask about his availability - with Arsenal one of three teams mentioned.
The Juventus midfield maestro, heavily linked with Manchester United - revealed:
“Sometimes I have received phonecalls from agents who told me of the interest of clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool. But no one from these clubs has ever contacted us directly. And in [that] case I would tell them to talk to Juve.”
