Arsenal latest: Giroud talks of off-field issues and Ozil 'tried his best'

All the latest news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

Olivier Giroud had a touch February after off-field problems seem to interfere with his place in the Arsenal first-team.

He was left out of the Bayern Munich home leg - however he insists that off-field issues did nothing to his performances in an interview with RMC Sport

“I think I have a strength of character that allows me to make sense of things. Yes, it affected me but it was not seen on the field. I have used it as an outlet. This is where I need to be and do some things and continue to take a lot of pleasure. That happened pretty well on these four games where I scored two goals.”

Mesut Ozil has taken to Facebook to explain his injury against Bayern Munich. He stated that he ‘tried his best’ but had suffered a hamstring injury in the SECOND minute - playing on until half-time.

Ozil now faces an extended period of time on the side-lines with the issue.

Sam Allardyce is always moaning - so no surprise he has found a way of turning Arsenal’s FA Cup success into some form of agenda.

The West Ham boss stated:

"I think we're going to have to fall another game behind in a few weeks’ time when we were scheduled to play Arsenal who are in the semi-final of the cup. So I think it's going to be a pretty tricky schedule to manage. We have two weeks off and then we're going to have to play three games in a week when the opposition won't have had to do that when we play them on the following Saturday.”

It was reported this morning that Nicklas Bendtner was apparently up to his old antics while his team-mates toiled in Munich.

He allegedly 'unbuttoned his trousers and rubbed himself against taxi' after a booze-filled evening.

This has of course not been confirmed and appears to be the word of a taxi driver so for now - take with a pinch of salt.
