88 touches, two chances created: On-loan Liverpool defender puts dip behind him

Derby County's on-loan Liverpool defender, Andre Wisdom, put his recent dip in form behind him, getting back to his best with a solid performance against Bolton Wanderers last night.

Derby County supporters had recently been asking questions of Liverpool full-back Andre Wisdom after suffering a minor blip in form in the past couple of months.

The England U21 captain has been unopposed for the Derby County right-back position for much of the season, after former Tottenham loanee Adam Smith was returned to his parent club and youth star Kieron Freeman sent out on loan.

Initially, the Liverpool right-back played a major part in the side that propelled themselves up the table from fourteenth position to inside the top three.

However, after the new year the defender seemed to have a slip in form which was emphasised when Sheffield Wednesday targeted him as a weakness during last months game.

Fortunately for Derby County fans, it seems Wisdom could be back on track after putting in a high-quality performance against Bolton last night.

Derby dominated the Lancashire side for much of the match, but struggled to find an opening and that allowed Dougie Freedman's men to grind out an away point.

Wisdom was certainly a key factor behind Derby's dominance and he finished the game making the joint-most touches in the match, along with fellow full-back Craig Forsyth.

He created two goalscoring opportunities, along with four crosses and had a fairly respectable 79% pass accuracy finish. In fact, only Jeff Hendrick, Craig Bryson and Craig Forsyth made more passes than Wisdom in the match.

The result will undoubtedly be crushing disappointment to the England youth star after feeling like they had done enough to come away with all three-points. However, it now makes their game on Saturday with Reading all that much more important.
