Manchester City fans react on Twitter to Sergio Aguero's performance - "As invisible as could be"

Sergio Aguero - Suisse vs Argentina

Manchester City crashed out of the Champions League after a 4-1 aggregate defeat to Barcelona, but Sergio Aguero's performance got fans talking.

Manuel Pellegrini's side were made to pay for losing the first leg 2-0, as they simply couldn't break down Barca's defence in the second leg to get themselves back into the tie. Vincent Kompany's consolation arrived late in the game, meaning City are out at the first knockout stage.

Pellegrini chose to go with a five-man midfield consisting of Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure, James Milner, Fernandinho and David Silva, leaving Sergio Aguero to lead the line on his own despite only just recovering from injury.

But Aguero's lack of match fitness showed with a terrible showing the first half, touching the ball just six times before he was hauled off for Edin Dzeko at half time - and City looked better for the Bosnian's introduction, as he offered a physical presence up front that Barcelona struggled to deal with.

City fans were obviously disappointed at the Argentine's contribution - or lack thereof - and here are some of the tweets about the former Atletico Madrid striker from the first half of the game.
