Arsenal latest: Ozil injured 'after 10 minutes' and Spanish striker linked ... not Morata

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium from the past 24 hours.

More on Mesut Ozil’s injury now - after the German limped out of action for Arsenal against Bayern Munich at half-time last night.

Ozil reportedly felt his hamstring go after just 10 minutes but attempted to continue playing - therefore aggravating the injury.

He reportedly has a grade two hamstring strain - set to side-line him for four to six weeks.

However, so far nothing official has been released on the subject.

Arsenal reportedly checked out rumoured transfer target Francisco Alcacer an incredible four times in the past month.

The Spanish under-21 striker, commonly known as ‘Paco’, has scored nine goals this season and is one of Valencia’s hottest young talents.

The 20-year-old could be an alternative should they miss out on number one target Alvaro Morata.

Which could happen, as Manchester United are now said to have joined the race for the player.

The Real Madrid forward is out of favour at the Bernabeu - and United are now set to join the likes of Inter Milan and the Gunners in attempting to snap up the talented young forward

He is valued in the region of £15 million by the club.

But yet another striker is now being linked with a move to Arsenal. It is reported in The Metro that The Gunners are eyeing up an approach for FC Nuremberg forward Josip Drmic.

The talented Swiss international has reportedly been on Wenger’s radar for a while now and he has reportedly sent scouts to compile reports on the star.

The 21-year-old has 11 goals in 23 league matches this season.

Thomas Vermaelen was one of Arsenal’s best performers last night - playing at left-back against Arjen Robben.

And the club captain insists he wants to stay at The Emirates and fight for his long-term future:

“There has been a lot of speculation, but I can’t talk about it because I don’t know what is going on. My focus is at Arsenal at the moment. There is still a lot to play for – I can’t do anything about rumours.”

The Belgian has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Napoli in the summer.
