Manchester City defender believes the club can deliver a shock result of their own this week.
Victims of a shock FA Cup defeat to Wigan, Manchester City are already eyeing turning the tables against Barcelona.
You may expect City's players to be downcast after the loss, and you'd be hard pressed to prove otherwise, but captain Vincent Kompany is already trying to inspire teammates and fans that there can be a positive to be found.
He claims it can give the Citizens the belief needed heading into the Nou Camp that no result in football is a given and they themselves have a chance to pull off a surprise result.
If any lessons have to be learned, it's that anything is possible in football and that's not unimportant considering the task that's ahead.— Vincent Kompany (@VincentKompany) March 9, 2014
It of course is not all that straightforward, and even a one goal win would not do for City. They head into the Champions League last 16 game already 2-0 down from the first leg.
Barcelona themselves suffered an unlikely loss at the weekend in La Liga, losing to Valladolid.
With both sides suffering unexpected defeats going into the game, Kompany is certainly right that nothing should be taken for granted heading into the second leg.
