Villarreal’s Moi Gomez has allegedly been attracting interest from top European clubs.
The 19-year-old midfielder has similar traits to former Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas as he adopts a short passing role and likes to arrive late into the box in attacking situations.
He has notched up 10 La Liga starts for the Yellow Submarines so far this campaign, proving himself to be a solid all-rounder. He has scored two goals, made two assists, accomplished 14 successful dribbles and completed 18 tackles.
Moi Gomez - nicknamed Moises - has gradually gained the confidence from his boss Marcelino, and over the past two months has become a regular in the starting XI. His most memorable games to date were the entertaining 4-2 defeat to Real Madrid and scoring in Villarreal’s superb 2-1 victory away to Espanyol.
In Liverpool’s case, if the Merseyside club were willing to step up their reported interest a possible scenario could include out-of-favour striker Iago Aspas going in the opposite direction.
As for Arsenal, their famed development of youth players will always appeal to the bright young stars across Europe, and Moi Gomez will be no different.
Villarreal’s new kid on the block still has some way to go before proving himself capable of playing at the top level, however if he continues displaying the consistency that is keeping him in the first-team, then perhaps a summer bid from the Premier League’s top clubs isn’t out of the question this summer.
Here he is scoring against Espanyol recently ...
