I am casting my eye back to this exact day, the 9th March 2014, but a year earlier.
What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?
Here are some of the big scoops from the 9th March 2013…
Give it all you got in Munich
This time last year Arsenal had been defeated 3-1 at the Emirates and were looking to overcome that deficit at the Allianz Arena.
Arsene Wenger said of the crunch game:
“We are not resigned to going out. We will go to Munich and have a go. Subconsciously they think they are through. And we have to subconsciously play on that and believe we can do it. The only way we can do that is go from the start.”
They won that game 2-0 - but went out on away goals. A similar result this year would take it to extra time, so same again all round.
Arsenal to bring him Higua-in
The Mirror got one right about Yaya Sanogo a few days earlier - and they got this one right and all.
12 months ago was the first day that Arsenal - and Tottenham for that matter - were being linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.
The Argentine was reportedly on his way out of Spain in the summer - and Arsenal did go on to enquire about the player.
However they got eyes on Luis Suarez instead - and Higuain went to Napoli instead.
Tottenham’s interest did not progress any further - but they could have done with him this season.
Torres to leave?
Chelsea were ready to take a big loss on the sale of Fernando Torres.
The Spaniard had been a monumental flop since arriving at Stamford Bridge for £50 million - and The Blues were ready to sell the player for just £15 million.
That never happened - and Torres is still at the club.
This summer however, who knows?
