Media claim Man City to sign Premier League duo for £50m - who?

Manuel Pellegrini’s men have been linked with a bumper double bid for Luke Shaw and Ross Barkley this summer.

Manchester City are right in the mix for the Premier League title this season, and having already won the Capital One Cup and being in the running for the FA Cup, a momentous domestic treble is on the cards.

However, with Champions League elimination at the hands of Barcelona looking likely, the Etihad Stadium outfit is widely expected to continue their big spending this summer in a bid to re-strengthen.

The latest players linked with the Manchester giants are two of England’s finest young players, with could well cost City a cool £50 million.

The Sunday Star has today stated the Pellegrini has put Southampton’s Luke Shaw and Everton’s Ross Barkley at the top of his summer wishlist.

Shaw, 18, has been making waves at St Mary’s this season and made his national debut this week for England.

Barkley continues to impress at Goodison, with his blend of supreme technique and skill leading to many comparing the Toffees’ star to Paul Gascoigne.

The future of both young prospects is up in the air amid interest from the Premier League big boys, with rumblings that City are ready to take the initiative for the pair.
