All the news, views and transfer rumours from Anfield this weekend…

Liverpool may not have had a match this weekend but there were still plenty of stories about the Reds.

We should start with one Liverpool player who was in action, and who should soon be appearing at Wembley in the semi-final of the FA Cup.

On loan Conor Coady was part of the Sheffield United side that defeated Charlton Athletic 2-0 to secure a place at the home of English football in the last-four.

In other news, the Guardian reports that Liverpool are monitoring Red Bull Salzburg defender Martin Hinteregger.

The report claims the Reds sent a scout to watch the 21-year-old play for Austria against Luis Suarez’s Uruguay last week, and are likely to have been impressed by his performance.

Speaking of Suarez, the frontman has reportedly told French television channel Telefoot in quotes later published by Goal, “I think I am more an angel than a demon. I’m very shy in life.”

The striker has courted controversy in the past but now appears to be well and truly on the right track, his performances outstanding for Liverpool this season.

He did hint at a possible future away from Anfield when he said, “I always try to learn the culture and the language of the country where I play; so if I play abroad in the future, I’ll learn the language, and I’ll learn French if I play in France.”

However, it seems highly unlikely he will be going anywhere in the near future, and as if to prevent any potential headlines focusing on those quotes, he added that his main aim for the rest of the campaign was to secure a top-four place.

My main objective is to play in the Champions League with Liverpool,” he added. “Playing a Champions League game at Anfield would be awesome.”
