CONFIRMED: Manchester City & Wigan line-ups

Here is how Manchester City and Wigan Athletic will line up for this afternoon’s FA Cup quarter-final:

Manchester City starting XI: Pantilimon, Richards, Demichelis, Lescott, Clichy, Navas, Toure, Garcia, Nasri, Negredo, Aguero

Subs: Hart, Kompany, Kolarov, Rodwell, Milner, Silva, Dzeko

Wigan Athletic starting XI: Carson, Perch, Boyce, Ramis, Crainey, McCann, McArthur, McEachran, McManaman, Gomez, Fortune

Subs: Al Habsi, Rogne, Barnett, Holgersson, Espinoza, McClean, Maynard

So this is it: the repeat of last year’s FA Cup final, this time at the quarter-final stage.

Manchester City were once unbeatable at the Etihad Stadium, but Chelsea and Barcelona have made a sizeable dent in that reputation and Wigan will know they are capable of beating of the Blues having done exactly that last season.

But surely history will not repeat itself; not at the home of Manuel Pellegrini’s men?

The hosts are without Matija Nastasic and Stevan Jovetic, who are both side-lined through injury. While former City player and now Latics’ boss Uwe Rosler is without Manchester United loanee Nick Powell, who is not quite fit enough to play.

All three previous FA Cup meetings between these two sides have ended with a 1-0 score-line, but something tells me there will be more than a single goal this afternoon.

What do you think the result will be today?
