A select round-up of morning news relating to Tottenham Hotspurs…
Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has been speaking about whether or not he feels he has been given the recognition he deserves since taking over at White Hart Lane.
In quotes published by London 24, Sherwood said, “No, probably not. People have been waiting for us to fail and lose some games.
“I don’t know. I just think the perception is you cannot be a rookie manager and come in and be that good.”
Tottenham come up against Chelsea later today at Stamford Bridge, and Sherwood will know the challenge ahead of him to change what is a terrible record for Spurs at the home of Jose Mourinho's men.
But if he can inspire a victory, he will not only dent the Blues' title hopes but also increase the chance of Spurs making a late run at fourth place.
In other news, Sandro has told Brazilian TV that he believes his side will triumph this evening.
In quotes published by Sambafoot, the midfielder said of the prospect of playing his 100th Spurs match, “I am very happy. I think we are going to do a great job over there and we are going to win this game.
“It is always a tough game against Chelsea. It is a happy day when you play against them because you are going to know it will be a brilliant game.”
