Liverpool morning news: Midfielder says attack ‘scares defences’; Suarez on his style

A select round-up of news relating to Liverpool

Liverpool’s official club website has published a section of the interview Luis Suarez gave to this month’s FourFourTwo magazine, in which he revealed that some of the tricks he did as a child still find their way into his game.

I’m definitely still doing things I used to try on the streets,” the striker said.

I guess I’m still a ‘botija’, a street kid who relies on the cunning I learned on the streets. These days, I’m not thinking intuitively about these skills; they just come out of me as instinct.”

Few who have seen Suarez play this season would suggest he tries anything else. The street kid in him, combined with his innate talent, is working a treat.

In other news, Joe Allen has been speaking to the Daily Post about the difference between the Reds’ last season and this one.

The difference this year to last year is incredible really,” he said.

With Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling we have plenty of pace and the combinations and link-up play is scaring every defence.”

With the Premier League title a very real possibility for Liverpool this season, Allen and his teammates will surely just keep doing what they have been so well since the opening day, and see where that takes them.
