Arsenal are through to a cup competition semi-final - and hope is certainly high that the club can finally break their silverware duck
They defeated Everton 4-1 at The Emirates today thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud (2), Mikel Arteta and the man who got the ball rolling - Mesut Ozil.
Now Ozil has been a much maligned figure in recent weeks because of a dip in his form - but his talent is obvious and what was never in doubt was that he would be back in his best form before we knew it.
Today he was pretty close. He scored the opening goal in the game and also went on to have an excellent individual display. Tidy in possession in the attacking third he also put in one hell of a shift defensively - an area of his game he has been previously criticised for.
For one man who is always opinionated it came as no surprise.
Piers Morgan is a regular Tweeter on the subject of his beloved Arsenal FC - and he got up at the very early time of 4.45 am in the United States in order to watch this game.
And he was as effusive in his backing of Ozil as ever…
Ozil is a top draw, world class player. Arsenal fans who knock him are imbecilic. #afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 8, 2014
