£18m splurging German side want to raid Chelsea again for Brazilian wonderkid

Wolfsburg

Could Lucas Piazon follow Kevin De Bruyne into German football?

Being a youngster at Chelsea can be a difficult task. They have one of the largest youth academies in the world and every time a player above you in the pecking order seems to leave the club or fall out of favour - they spend big on a replacement.

With that amount of competition there is no surprise to see so many young talents, mostly teenagers, out on loan at destinations across the continent.

Of course the most famous destination for these players at the moment is Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem - where the likes of Patrick van Aanholt, Bertrand Traore and Lucas Piazon are all currently on loan.

Piazon in particular has impressed this season. The ‘next Kaka’ has been playing from the left-hand side of a front three - and has a record of 11 goals and eight assists in his 22 games for the club.

However keeping hold of the Brazilian looks like being a difficult task - as Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg are currently snooping around his services.

Wolfsburg have already levered one Chelsea prodigy away recently, snapping up Kevin De Bruyne for a fee of £18 million in January.

Now the Bundesliga outfit are said to be interested in Piazon.

He reportedly impressed Wolfsburg staff during a winter-break friendly between the two sides - and although Chelsea are reluctant to sell, he is not considered indispensable and his potential involvement in a deal for left-back Ricardo Rodriguez could see Piazon in Germany next season.

Here is his goal against Wolfsburg that seemingly has them keen…
