The name behind Bitcoin takes to the internet to say, ‘I am not Dorian Nakamoto’
The single one line statement appears in a forum post on the Peer to Peer Foundation page.
Newsweek sensationally reported to have unmasked the man behind Bitcoin in an exposé earlier this week and posted a picture of his home. The media circus that ensued saw a man named Dorian Nakamoto trailed by reporters and an Associated Press exclusive where he vehemently denied being the Inventor of Bitcoin repeatedly stating, "I got nothing to do with it."
Newsweek's report has already received much criticism; fears for the Nakamoto’s safety and a lack of any real hard evidence being highlighted.
The drive to reveal the real identity or indeed identities of the enigmatic Nakamoto seems to work best to generate press. It was always going to be easy for any supposed ‘Nakamoto’ to deny involvement given the anonymity of his part in the creation of Bitcoin. Who he really is has no real bearing on the state of Bitcoin given that he cut off ties with the Bitcoin community and his rumoured Bitcoin fortune.
Meanwhile Newsweek stand by their story whilst members from the Peer to Peer foundation work to asses the validity of the Satoshi Nakamoto post.
Below is the video of Dorian Nakamoto’s interview, Is this the man behind Bitcoin, what do you think?
