The Copa del Rey match was always going to include a few of the more ‘fringe’ players on offer at the club - and plenty of names were being mentioned as potential targets for Wenger after the game.
But one that stood out was that of young midfield dynamo Sergi Roberto. Similar in style to Cesc Fabregas - and valued at just £6 million he represented an absolute bargain.
The Metro reported that it was indeed Roberto he was checking out in action - and the midfielder has only managed to play 211 minutes of La Liga football this season, playing the full 90 just once.
And if Arsenal are keen - they may have an ace up their sleeve in the pursuit.
You see the Gunners are not alone in their reported interest - both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked recently so any advantage they could have should be taking seriously.
And they have a rather odd one - after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain showed who enjoyed his holiday with last summer.
‘The Ox’, Arsenal’s player of the month for February, has posted this Tweet and subsequent Instagram photo of him holidaying last summer with the Barcelona talent.
Whether Wenger can get Chambo to convince Sergi that Arsenal is the best place for him to continue his career remains to be seen.
