VIDEO: Chelsea’s Brazilian playmaker Oscar nets on international duty

Brazil’s number 11 Oscar opened the scoring for Brazil in their friendly with former World Cup hosts South Africa in Johannesburg.

Chelsea’s Brazilian contingent have had a fun past couple of days on national team duty and are taking on former World Cup hosts South Africa in a repeat friendly match of the one celebrated in 2012.

In an early flurry, Chelsea’s 22-year-old playmaker Oscar has certainly put his name forward for this summer’s 23-man squad with an exquisite goal within the first 10 minutes of the match.

Zenit St Petersburg’s expensive striker Hulk – playing out on the right wing – played the Chelsea man in on goal following a wonderful through ball from the halfway line. Oscar still had work to do, but as South Africa’s shot-stopper Ronwen Williams rushed out, Oscar declicately clipped the ball over him and into the back of the net.

It was Oscar’s 10th goal in the Samba shirt on his 30th appearance, a record comparable with many Brazilian greats from the past at such a young age.

Chelsea centre-back David Luiz also started the game, whilst Ramires and Willian began the match on the bench and will be itching to get some minutes on the pitch.
