Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Sherwood handed boost, Talks under way for sale of Tottenham star?

Christian Eriksen and Soldado Spurs

A round up of the latest news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Denmark boss Morten Olsen has assured Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood that he won’t play Christian Eriksen against England this evening if the player is at risk from injury.

The 22-year-old is reported to be carrying a slight back injury but Denmark’s coach won’t play him unless he’s completely fit.

“If Eriksen can play we will use him but he would have to be 100 per-cent. When he is only 99 per-cent he will not play. He’s a young player who has never had such an injury before, so it’s a difficult one to call,” said Olsen.

Roma are reportedly talking with Tottenham over a summer deal for injured star Erik Lamela.

The Argentine has struggled to make any impact on the Tottenham first team since he signed in a big money move from Roma last summer.

Sources in Italy claim talks are all ready under way for the player to return to Serie A just a single season after leaving.

Emmanuel Adebayor claims striker Roberto Soldado will be a different player with a little confidence.

Soldado has been struggling in Tottenham colours this season, scoring just two goals from open play with his latest coming last weekend against Cardiff.

“He’s one of the best strikers in the business and hopefully this goal will be key for him. I’m delighted for him – A striker playing with confidence and without confidence can be a very different thing, believe me,” he told the club’s website.
