VIDEO: Sturridge nets Wembley winner as England edge Danes

Liverpool star continued his goalscoring form with a third for his country in England's last match before Roy Hodgson announces his squad for Brazil.

Edging into the last 10 minutes, and with England heading for a disappointing 0-0 draw with Denmark at Wembley, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge popped up to nod in a winner for Roy Hodgson's side.

As one of the country's form players, Daniel Sturridge will be delighted to transfer some of his outstanding goalscoring form to the international stage.

With 21 goals in 24 games for Liverpool this season, Sturridge scored his 3rd for his country to further stake his claim for a starting berth in Brazil, in a game England deserved to win.

With various scoring opportunities escaping the home side, it wasn't until Southampton man Adam Lallana took to the field and looped a left footed cross across the six-yard box that England could get the goal their play deserved.

As the last friendly before Hodgson names his provisional World Cup squad, it was a chance for many to impress, and Sturridge, substitute Lallana, and man of the match Raheem Sterling, all looked to have seized their chance.
