Chelsea latest: Hazard refutes Mourinho claims, Luiz lined up to replace Puyol

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from Stamford Bridge...

Many of the Chelsea stars will be playing international football tonight, but Belgian Eden Hazard has played down Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho's claims that the former Lille man is in need of a rest this week, and that Belgium manager Marc Wilmots will give him a break.

"I don't need rest, as I've said before, I'm at my best if I can play a lot of matches. But I must be aware that I don't let myself burn out," Hazard added.

"I'm in a good rhythm, I'm getting a lot of game time. I did feel a little down in the first half against Fulham but it went much better in the second half."

Another Chelsea star in action this week is Spanish international Cesar Azpilicueta. Not usually a regular of Vicente del Bosque's side, the former Marseille man has praised Mourinho for helping the full back's development, crediting him as the reason he has earned his place back in the Spain side.

"Mourinho has helped me to get back into the national side, he has always helped me, even though I was not playing at the beginning he has always shown confidence in me. The work we have been doing can now be seen, I have learnt a lot with him," said Azpilicueta.

Meanwhile, Blues centre back David Luiz is once again being linked with a move to Barcelona in light of Carles Puyol's exit from the Camp Nou. A £25m swoop for the ex-Benfica defender has been speculated, as the long-running rumours of Luiz to Barcelona rumble on - though Mourinho is believed to be seeking around £50m in order to part with the Brazilian international.
