Chelsea morning news: Cavani linked again, Mourinho admission on Eto'o

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

French source Le10Sport claims Chelsea have started to ‘make eyes’ at PSG striker Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan forward has been linked with several moves away from the French capital after only moving to Ligue One last summer.

However, PSG insiders believe Cavani is happy at the club and unwilling to force a move away any time soon.

Jose Mourinho claims that striker Samuel Eto’o is not suited to playing effectively away from home.

The Cameroonian striker has been thrust into the spotlight following comments Mourinho made about his strike force at Stamford Bridge.

“Playing away is more difficult for him. I think he is our best striker to play at home because of his technique, his movement and his understanding with Eden (Hazard) and Oscar,” said the boss.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has been voted the Czech Republic’s best footballer for a seventh time.

The 31-year-old was voted Czech player of the year for 2013, beating Arsenal’s Tomas Rosicky into second place.

Cech won the Europa League with the Blues at the back end of last season but the Czech Republic failed to qualify for the World Cup this summer.
