United morning news: Italians eye alternative to Nani; Ferguson steps out in Hollywood

A select round-up of news relating to Manchester United

The future of Manchester United winger Nani remains in some doubt, with Italy his likely – but yet to be confirmed – next destination.

Tuttosport is now reporting that while Serie A giants Juventus remain interested in the Portuguese winger, they have also been casting admiring glances towards a man previously linked with Liverpool – Juan Iturbe.

Iturbe is currently on loan at Hellas Verona from FC Porto, and his performances are such that Antonio Conte is reportedly considering a move for him should he fail to sign Nani.

This report may have added value after claims this weekend that the United man would in fact be heading to Inter Milan on loan next season, with a permanent transfer possible if he impresses.

In other news, former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was not only urging fans to have patience with David Moyes this weekend. He was also stepping out at the biggest show in Tinseltown.

Now saying he had “time on his hands”, Ferguson was interviewed by the BBC at this year’s Oscar ceremony. With nights out like that, it certainly appears he is making the most of his retirement.
