A round up of news stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.
The Metro has reported that Liverpool are leading the race to sign Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen.
The Belgian recently refused to rule out leaving White Hart Lane in order to seek Champions League football.
Liverpool are currently one of the strong favourites to finish inside the top four.
Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood has implied that some won’t be happy until a foreign coach is in charge of the club.
Sherwood has done a decent job in charge of the first team but the club are continuously linked with top managers from different parts of Europe.
“There will always be speculation. Until you get a foreign manager of this club no-one is happy. That is not the view of the club – that is the perception from outside,” he told Sky Sports.
Sherwood has also maintained his belief and hope that striker Roberto Soldado can go on a good run of form over the rest of the season.
The striker has been criticised heavily over the last couple of weeks for his inconsistent form in Tottenham colours.
“Robbie scored goals in a top league in Spain. We know what he's capable of. I've stuck by him and I believe he will come good,” he told the Daily Star.
