Chelsea morning news: Chelsea could make radical decision to pave the way for Courtois' return

A round up of news stories about Chelsea this morning.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has been linked with Atletico Madrid in a move which would allow Thibaut Courtois to become the Blues’ number one.

The young Belgian has been on loan with the Spanish club for the last three seasons and has made it clear he’ll only return to Stamford Bridge for regular football.

An Italian website has run the rumour suggesting the veteran shot stopper will be axed so that Courtois can return.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has claimed he’d rather be in Manuel Pellegrini’s shoes for the Premier League run in.

Chelsea currently sit top of the Premier League ahead of Manchester City but Mourinho suggests Pellegrini is in the more favourable position.

“I prefer to have the destiny in my hands, and only City have destiny in their hands. If I win every game until the end of the season, all 10 - which we won't - maybe we are not champions,” said the boss.

The Daily star has revealed the team talk Mourinho gave at half-time after Chelsea’s lacklustre first-half against Fulham over the weekend.

It did the trick as the Blues went onto complete a comfortable victory in the West London derby against Fulham thanks to a hat-trick from Andre Schurrle.

“It’s your s***, so sort it out,” is what Mourinho said to his players according to the newspaper.
