A round up of news stories about Arsenal this morning.
The Daily Mail has revealed that Liverpool striker Luis Suarez did have a £40 million buy-out clause in his previous contract.
Arsenal tried to buy the forward last summer, lodging an offer of £40 million and £1 as they tried to activate that clause.
However, Liverpool owner John Henry has implied that meant nothing when the Reds stopped one of their best players leaving a rival.
Goal.com claims that Arsene Wenger has confirmed Arsenal’s interest in Real Sociedad star Antoine Griezmann.
Arsenal reportedly had a £12.5 million offer turned down for the wide man last month.
Goal points to French source TF1 where Wenger apparently confirmed that the Gunners have been tracking Griezmann for a lengthy period of time.
Arsene Wenger has defended his side against the claim they fade towards the end of the season.
The Gunners went down 1-0 away at Stoke due to a controversial penalty over the weekend and Wenger remains upbeat heading into a crucial period of fixtures.
“Everybody repeats that so often it becomes an opinion, when in fact if you look at the records we have always been strong towards the finish,” said the Arsenal boss.
