PSV are said to be new leading contenders to sign Michy Batshuayi.
A striker compared in his homeland in terms of impact to Romelu Lukaku, Michy Batshuayi is making a big impression in Belgium.
Already he has 19 goals to his name for Standard Liege, 17 of these in the Jupiler Pro League where he is the top scorer this current season.
In January he was linked with a transfer to Arsenal and Everton - two clubs with varying needs for strikers. Arsenal needed one there and then, and continue to - while Everton need to think about next season given there's a strong chance Lukaku will not be returning on another loan deal.
Batshuayi, an excellent prospect at 20-years-old, is less of a gamble than he would have been two seasons ago, when Christian Benteke proved that the jump from Belgium to England is not too much for prolific strikers in the division.
Yet a new rival has emerged in the race for his signature, with reports in the last 24 hours that PSV are making him their top summer transfer target.
Reports in Belgium and Holland claim that the Dutch side are willing to pay £8 million to try to tempt him to the Eredivisie.
Such a deal would be a blow, particularly to Everton for who his price tag would be affordable, with his talent making him a potential bargain - and one who still has an outside chance of making Belgium's World Cup squad.
Arsenal fans may prefer to sign a more proven forward, given their lack of a world class striker needed to take them to the next level, but given their tendency to buy young players like Yaya Sanogo, it may be that they decide to step up their interest in Batshuayi in light of PSV's rumoured interest.
