The 20-year-old Valencia youth product has broken through to the first team under new boss Juan Antonio Pizzi and has astonished the Mestalla crowd with some outstanding displays.
At 5ft 8inch, and with a slim frame, Paco has been likened to former Valencia star David Villa - and with his movement and eye for goal goes some way to justifying those claims. In eight La Liga starts so far, Paco has netted five goals, and assisted with a further two. He is currently the club’s top goalscorer in all competitions.
The newspaper claims that Arsenal have monitored the youngster for a while, with Wenger believing that the player has huge potential, and that his style would suit the Premier League.
Although Valencia is reluctant to sell the player, the club is said to be aware of Arsenal's potential interest (Barcelona is also thought to be in the mix), potential financial problems combined with a lack of European football could persuade the club to allow Paco to leave – especially if the price is right. Indeed, Valencia have had a habit of finding, producing and developing young stars over the past decade - stars such as David Villa, David Silva, Juan Mata, Jordi Alba and Roberto Soldado have all departed in big money moves.
And, with Paco’s contract set to expire in 2016, Arsenal could make a move as early as this summer.
