Tottenham on verge of signing Belgian wonderkid – report

The North London club are believed to be close to agreeing a deal to bring highly rated 16-year-old Ismail Azzaoui to White Hart Lane.

Tottenham are believed to be ready to bring yet another Belgian to the Premier League.

Het Laatste Nieuws has stated that Tim Sherwood’s men are on the verge of concluding a deal to sign 16-year-old Ismail Azzaoui from Anderlecht.

The White Hart Lane outfit already have Jan Vertonghen, Mousa Dembele and Nacer Chadli on their books, while Belgian players have flooded into the Premier League over the last number of seasons.

Azzaoui is a product of the Anderlecht youth academy, and plays as a winger or central midfielder. He has recently turned 16 and was offered a professional contract by his boyhood club, but is set to snub that in favour of a move to London.

The teenager has represented his country at under-16 level and recently netted against England.

Anderlecht is seemingly a hotbed for young talent at the moment, with Manchester United’s Adnan Januzaj emerging from the Belgian club.
