The Argentine, who both played and managed Madrid, has been critical of Mourinho’s time in Spain.
“Jose Mourinho's spell in charge of Real Madrid was below the historical average for the club,” the South American is quoted as saying by Marca.
Mourinho’s lack of silverware at Madrid was largely down to a phenomenal opponent in the form of Barcelona.
This season the Portuguese coach looks odds on to add to a career of silverware, with Chelsea building a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
